COWES WEEK 2007

ONE-OFF, ONE-DAY PHOTO COURSE
Follow and photograph the action from a photo-boat with Stephen Lee of the Wight Light Gallery.
Now Confirmed  for Wednesday  8th August 2007 -
Cost of Course £185

The Wednesday of Cowes Week is often one of the most exciting racing days on the water with crews well settled in to their schedule and still with a chance to improve their overall positions as well as win races on the day. Course participants will be led by accomplished Wight Light Gallery photographer Stephen Lee, whose 20 years of experience in action photography on land, sea, sky and ice is at your disposal throughout the day.
The photo boat is a twin-hulled Cheetah Marine workboat, skippered by seasoned Racing Enthusiast Mike Rayden, whose 20-knot craft and eye for the action is sure to keep us in the frame. The boat has a large, stable and unobstructed photography area to the aft, with access to a dry cabin area for storage of gear and film changing. There is space for up to six participants on board.

Our course departs the Island Sailing Club at 9 am sharp to cover the pre-start manoeuvring of some 850 yachts as they jostle for position on the start line. Excitement and action is guaranteed! We follow the action during the morning's races, returning to Cowes for lunch, and out again for the afternoon races, finishing at 5pm to give participants time to enjoy the unique apres-sail atmosphere at Cowes' largest ever regatta.
The photo boat has to leave promptly from Cowes at 10am on Wednesday 8th, so there will no time to wait for participants arriving late from the mainland. Red Jet services to Cowes at this time are operating at maximum capacity.  Travel to Cowes the night before!
Wednesday 8 August.   Meet at Cowes. 0900 for briefing. 10.00am Board photo boat  with skipper Mike Rayden, head out for the action. All day on the water, with a break for lunch on board. 4pm Course finishes.

Includes unlimited photographic advice, assistance and guidance from Stephen Lee during the day, Life Jackets, lunch and refreshments on board. Does not include travel from the mainland to Cowes or return, waterproofs or photographic equipment.
